Last week, dear wife decided it was time to take the big leap in Potty training our big toddler. Been Potty training for a while, encouraging Potty use when getting up, after meals, and regularly during the day.
But now safety net of the nappy was been removed, so that now nappies are only for bedtime.
First 2 days, we were all a bit apprehensive, what with a rented, carpeted house and an untrained weeeing machine… amazingly, we only had real issues on the first day when he regularly wet his clothes, but by the second day, he was saying when he needed to visit the loo, and now we are fairly confident he is well set up and on his way to a nappy free existence!
We just need another shot of courage to start the bed time nappy free training…
Yummy daddy. I remember how seriously apprehensive we were…
Training pants can help a lot with naps, and some people use a pad with water resistant backing on the bed. As he works and exercises the muscles you are likely to notice dryness upon waking more and more.
Thanks, will try them.
I guess it’s one of those things that you read of during pregnancy, as you are getting ready, but once the baby / toddler is here, you find yourself so busy they all get buried under a ton of other things…
